4. factor the following:

[tex]2x^2-72[/tex]

First thing we do is to factor common term 2 as it follows

[tex]=2(x^2-36)[/tex]

then, we factor x^2-36

[tex]=2\cdot(x-6)\cdot(x+6)[/tex]

from the above, we can see that the error was in not multiplying by 2 in the last step
